The blood orange is a variety of orange with reddish, blood like flesh. The flavour is usually tart, with hints of raspberry. The aroma has a richer, tarter and more complex scent than Sweet Orange essential oil. The red colour comes from anthocyanin which contains more antioxidants than most other cultivars of oranges. Choose blood orange one if you are a fan of citrus scents!
