Patchouli Reserve Select is oak barrel aged and a wonderful oakiness is imparted through this process. This is absolutely the best patchouli available in the world today with a high patchouli alcohol content. The Perfumery regularly sets aside certain premium lots of patchouli oil to be aged for at least three years as the oil actually gets considerably better with time. Like a fine wine, the older the patchouli the better. The current batch in stock that we have released for sale is vintage 2009 material and is sweeter smelling than the typical Indonesian or Chinese material as well as and higher patchouli alcohol (the sesquiterpene alcohol that is the main component in patchouli oil).
